What the result means
Astrology associates the Moon with emotional responses, comfort and habitual needs. The Moon usually spends around two to three days in each zodiac sign, so a date alone is not always enough.
How we calculate
Astronomy Engine calculates geocentric positions in the tropical zodiac. Birth times are converted using a bundled IANA time-zone database. House geometry and aspect rules are computed separately. Supported input dates are 1900–2100.

Why is my Moon sign different from my Sun sign?
They describe two different bodies. The Moon moves around the zodiac much faster than the Sun.
How accurate is a Moon sign without a time?
If the Moon stays in one sign all local day, the sign is stable. If it crosses a boundary, you need a time to choose between the reported possibilities.
